Abstract: This study puts forward an analysis of the influence of liquid sloshing upon oscillating vessels by means of experimentation and numerical models. Rectangular cross-sectional tanks incorporating distinct setups at various fill-volume levels were fabricated and operated to establish the fluid dynamics within the tanks, together with the torque exerted solely by the liquid upon oscillation. An experimentation rig was designed and manufactured, utilising the tank systems to determine the variation in angular displacement and torque as a result of the distinct suppression devices installed within the tanks. Experimentation was carried out utilising an open-bore tank and a partitioned tank, where the final results were verified through numerical simulations. Following the accurate comparison, a perforated-partition was installed within the tank, resulting in a substantial discrepancy in torque output in contrast to the previous setups.
