Abstract: This research analyses the employees' perspectives and involvement in training during this difficult economic climate. It also takes into consideration that the role of management is essential when it comes to on-the-job training. The method of this assignment consisted of an analysis based on the employees' experience related to on-the-job training and the employees' opinion about training. The study determined that employees need to change their attitude towards their personal development. Rather than the workers identifying themselves with a single job title, they must understand their own cache of knowledge, skills and abilities. It also indicated that both employers and employees must share the responsibility of individual development. The employer should offer the opportunities and the employee should take the initiative.
