Abstract: The scope of this report is to analyse the present Geographical Information System in the Planning Authority and therefore see whether improvements must be done so that the system would be much more efficient. So that this could be done, it must be divided into three sectors which are:- Definition & Analyses, Design, Evaluation and Implementation. Definition & Analyses - Before starting any analyses, the first thing that has to be done is to understand what is Geographical information systems, what can it offer and also how the present system in the P.A. works. After having defined the problem a clear analysis of what the present system consisted must be done so that by the use of the gathered information a Questionnaire could be formulated. Design - By the use of the gathered information in the previous chapter a questionnaire could be designed so that various opinions from the Planning Authority employees could be known. This could be done by the use of techniques of gathering information, like for example questionnaires. Having these questionnaire's results an evaluation could be done and therefore conclusions on how the system could be improved could be made. Evaluation and Feasibility - At this stage all the suggestions would be analysed and therefore the results could be evaluated. Having all the improvements listed does not mean that these would be added to the system. In fact, a study must be made to see whether these improvements would be feasible or not. By this it is meant that if the company service would improve and as a result of that profit will increase, these improvements will be taken in consideration and afterwards they could be implemented.
