| dc.description.abstract | Le trombosi venose cerebrali possono coinvolgere le vene cerebrali (sia le vene corticali, quali la vena temporale di Labbe, sia le vene profonde, quali la grande vena di Galeno) o i seni venosi cerebrali della dura madre ( quali il seno sagittale superiore, il seno retto, i seni trasversi o laterali, il seno sigmoideo, il seno cavernoso). Le manifestazioni cliniche possono essere differenti a seconda della sede: la trombosi delle vene cerebrali causa soprattutto effetti locali dovuti all'ostruzione venosa, mentre la trombosi dei seni venosi cerebrali si manifesta con sintomi e segni da ipertensione endocranica.
