Abstract: | Aim: The aim of this structured review was to assess the current evidence related to the temporal progression of intermittent claudication (IC). Methods: The PRISMA checklist for systematic reviews was followed. A literature search without restriction to publication date was performed using MEDLINE, Cochrane, HyDi (university search portal), ScienceDirect and reference lists of review articles. Eligible articles published in English, needed to report the temporal progression of IC with 12-month minimum review period. Titles and abstracts were assessed for relevance and design. Eligible fulltext articles were retrieved. Methodological quality was assessed using the Cochrane collaboration checklist. [Excerpt] |
