dc.description.abstract | This thesis provides a lifelong journey of the artist that instils a sense of discovery and a continuous search for epiphanies of beauty. This kind of “Beauty will save the world!” This salvific endeavour may shape the life, the style and one’s artistic expression. The redemptive art form of Kintsugi may portray the divine technique of restoring humanity and making of its brokenness a valuable work of art. The 21st century Church is ever seeking to rebuild bridges with the world of art. The artist may be present in the middle of this conversation in order to be enhanced and fostered. The magisterium sheds light on this quest to exhort the artist to respond to the call, while one’s art and creativity will become a powerful instrument of evangelisation. Whereas the spiritual journey behind religious art draws up the human heart, the sacred art engages the faithful into the transcendent realm of Beauty. The evoking divine call to transcendence makes the way of beauty a path towards salvation. A path to be discovered, lived and proclaimed by the Church and the artist as a witness of beauty. | en_GB |
