Abstract: | Food security is becoming an increasingly important issue for small island states because of climate change, which has recently been exacerbated from armed conflicts in regions deemed to be the world’s primary source of staple food crops (Brown et al., 2008). With changing weather patterns, Mediterranean islands are experiencing ever increasing incidences of flooding and extended drought conditions, which impacts the crops they rely on. |
