Abstract: The process of transmitting high power electromagnetic waves and receiving back some power, led to the invention of high powered microwave equipment. The high frequency operation necessitates the use of special types of wire, cables, etc. These were at first difficult to understand, difficult to build and difficult to operate. Now, microwaves and its associated equipment have grown from a military necessity to a commercial one. Satellite communication, telephone links and TV stations all use such equipment. It is this interest in the equipment and the project as a whole which led me to choose such a project.
