This dissertation offers an in-depth analysis of twerking, it's role in Western mainstream society, cultural implications, racial issues and appropriation. This paper will discuss twerking in its appearance today, which will link to present conflicts, implied in the dance genre itself, and possible racial concerns regarding this topic. This paper focuses on appropriation in dance and racial issues appearing under the idea of inter-cultural transfer, concerning the copying and/ or using of dance steps, taken out of their original cultural context.en_GB
