Abstract: | The Code of Professional and Ethical Conduct for the Professions Complementary to Medicine provides a common set of values upon which these professions can maintain and develop their professional and scientific work. Because of the diversities existing between these professions, it is impractical to produce one common Code of Conduct for all the professions. Instead a compendium of separate Codes of Conduct are compiled within this document to provide a comprehensive guide to most of the professions regulated by the Council for the Professions Complementary to Medicine. These Codes of Conduct are intended to provide both the general principles and the decision rules to cover most situations encountered by the professionals. The Codes have as their primary goal the welfare and protection of the individuals and groups with whom the professionals work. It is the individual responsibility of each professional to aspire to the highest possible standard of conduct. |
