Abstract: The Maltese and English versions of the Receptive Picture Name Judgement Task (Gatt, 2011) address children’s processing of lexical phonology received in auditory input. Word stimuli are presented as labels for coloured photographic images in a PowerPoint presentation. Of the 40 task items in each language, approximately 50% are presented as inaccurate picture labels. The tasks tap into children’s ability to judge the accuracy of phonological representations of known words.
