Abstract: We present three ongoing projects in Lancaster University that we custom built personal informatics tools and investigate people’s preferences in the tools. An important lesson that we learned is that there is no one-size-fit-all solution, and users have different needs and preferences. We argue that beyond the current trend of personal informatics, where system designers define the features of the tools, we need to consider the users and provide supports for personalization for their needs.
