I come from Malta: Malta is known to many as a sun-drenched island in the Mediterranean and a popular tourist destination, a centre for financial services within the European Union, as is Dublin and Luxembourg. The State is also particular in so far as it has a mixed legal tradition – it is traditionally a civil law country; however the common law and sources of English law have become absorbed by the system and form part of the sources, owing to the British experience of Malta.
