Abstract: This contribution seeks to critically revisit and reassess the evolution of the discourse of a Mediterranean as a singular, unique and objective conceptual framework conventionally used in historiography and interwoven in the literature on the subject. By so doing, the second part of this presentation seeks to contribute towards the development of a well-informed and balanced research agenda based on new theoretical and methodological approaches, culturally sensible enough to enable a critical exploration of past and present of a Mediterranean in the making.
