Citation: | Attard, S.M. (2022). Regulating digital assets ‘post-mortem’: a demand for legislative change (Professional report). |
Abstract: | This Professional Report focuses on the devolution of digital assets, particularly, the process of digital inheritance and to what extent it is regulated by the Maltese Succession Law. The author has also given importance to conduct research on how digital inheritance is regulated in the European Union (EU). The purpose behind conducting said comparative research is that, by also taking an international perspective, this has helped the author to formulate practical ideas for the way forward for the process of digital inheritance on a national level. The digital economy is always expanding and therefore, it is important for our law to safeguard and regulate to the full extent, such a form of inheritance. |
