Abstract: | The association between Malta and fireworks is well documented. The: majority of displays almost exclusively revolve around Festivals held by individual villages, in celebration of their own Patron Saint. For example, the village of Luqa celebrates the festival of St Andrew and Kirkop that of St Leonard. In a staunchly Catholic country, the church is still the cornerstone of the community and hence these festivals are viewed with great importance. [Excerpt] |
