Abstract: Technology has evolved throughout the years, and advancements in technology have changed the way that organisations around the world operate. Since some of these recent technologies are disruptive technologies, the introduction of such technologies has led to major changes not just in the organisation where they are implemented, but also on the industry. Hence, the aim of this research is to examine how the adoption of disruptive technologies affects the management of an organisation. The literature review features the articles written by scholars which the researcher has analysed. Whereas the methodology illustrates how the researcher conducted the study; where the researcher invited participants to take part in the study, and then the participants were interviewed through a set of semi-structured, open-ended questions. Thus, the responses of the participants were recorded and transcribed by the researcher and then analysed to extract a number of themes and sub themes. Based on the findings from the literature review as well as the responses from participants, the researcher found that organisations must invest in such technologies, as most participants expressed that they will be investing in disruptive technologies and new digital tools, so that they would not end up disadvantaged. Similarly, the changes brought about by the pandemic such as hybrid and remote working may remain as employees and the organisation claim that this has increased collaboration among teams. Although the number of companies who have implemented the disruptive technologies in Malta is not as large as that of those overseas, overall, in Malta, the adoption of such technologies is seen as something positive which is encouraged, as shown by the remarks of the participants. Therefore, it is quite possible that in future, there will be more companies who invest in such technologies, and thus there would be a greater variety of disruptive technologies used in different industries in Malta.
