| Abstract: | Paul Cassar was born in 1914 and received his education at the Lyceum and the University of Malta, from where he qualified with honours as a medical doctor in 1940. He served in a medical capacity during the Second World War. After undergoing postgraduate studies in psychiatry, he returned to Malta where in addition to the exercise of his profession, he found time to carry out extensive research in various aspects in Maltese history. His scholarly work Medical History of Mal ta, published in 1965 has earned him international recognition and the unique Honorary Fellowship of the University of Malta (1970). |
