The Giovanni Curmi collection : a listing of his papers, including correspondence, unpublished works, newspaper cuttings and other miscellanea

Abstract

A large collection of miscellaneous papers formerly belonging to the author and lecturer Giovanni Curmi, donated to the UM Library by his daughter Ileana in 1997. Curmi was a writer with a life-long dedication to Italian, the language which he taught and in which he wrote numerous prize-winning novels. This collection consists of personal and work-related correspondence, newspaper cuttings of articles and letters to the editor, unpublished works, notes on Maltese and Italian writers, and miscellanea from various literary events and ceremonies. It also features an extensive collection of personal photographs including photos of the author as Special Constable during WW2. The collection is available for consultation at the Archives and Rare books department.
