Abstract: This is an exciting time for radiographers/radiation therapists who are interested in research, education and radiation therapy (RT). Recent literature has identified that the education of radiography is not standardised across Europe, hence graduates enter the workforce with different skills and competencies which may hinder their professional mobility. If these graduates choose to migrate to different countries to work, this variation in skills may lead to them performing roles that are outside their scope of practice. This in turn may compromise patient safety, so it is imperative to “plug” these educational gaps and ensure safe practice is maintained. To address this issue, the Safe And Free Exchange of EU RadiOgraphy Professionals across Europe project (SAFE EUROPE) was set up with the aid of ERASMUSþ funding under Sector Skills Alliance Key Action 2 - Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices.
