Abstract: Objectives: Data on antimicrobial consumption in southern and eastern Mediterranean countries has been sorely lacking. The Antibiotic Resistance Surveillance and Control in the Mediterranean Region (ARMed) project addressed this by studying antibiotic use in hospitals in the region.
