White-collar crime : fraud and the impact on victims

Abstract

The research that was conducted analysed in-depth white-collar crime and the impact this crime would have on the victims. Moreover, it included the different types of white-collar crimes, mainly focusing on fraud. For this research, semi-structured qualitative interviews with various professionals such as the MFSA, FIAU, Victim Support Unit, and the FCID were conducted to get more thorough information on the subject. This study highlighted the importance of the general population not taking white-collar crime lightly and the importance of being more aware of the negative impacts white-collar crime could have on the individual both directly and indirectly.
