Abstract: Although the article was given a title in Maltese by the editors of the periodical, the actual text of the article is in English. Parish presbyteria - namely, groups of priests working in the same parish - are instruments of priestly communion, unity and collaboration. The article is outlined by means of reference to the documents of the Second Vatican Council and the post-conciliar Magisterium. The proper functioning of a parish depends largely on the relationships among priests, their personal life, their prayer life and the witness given by their unity and collaboration. Parish presbyteria are a means to encourage theological and pastoral formation, as well as to share moments of recreation and relaxation. The presence (in a parish) of priests belonging to institutes of consecrated life is also discussed. The presbyterium is intended to reflect the communion which is the very nature of the Church.
