Abstract: We stand right in the midst of immense technological changes, a reality heavily impacting upon the way we communicate and share knowledge. This immeasurable change has also shifted our focus from analogue media as symbol of our ideas and prime personification of our expression, to the digital, bringing with it an expanded lexis, poetic and aesthetic. With the proliferation of contemporary digital media therefore, virtual space has become an alterable field for evocative exploration which includes video, still images, 30 objects, animations and texture maps, spoken and written text, music and noise. These expressions have nowadays become increasingly popular among artists as they not only meet at the very crossroads of art, science and technology to reflect the mediatic omnipresence of contemporary society, but also, through their interactive nature, establish a direct relationship with the spectator.
