Abstract: In comparison with other European directives, the directive on insurance mediation (hereinafter: IMD) is less prescriptive concerning the relationship with third countries. This has given rise to the issues which are examined in this paper. The analysis also wants to explain the possible solutions emerging from the amending process of the IMD, which has just begun.
