Abstract: An emerging trend of the regulatory approach to the insurance industry is making reference to the risk culture and ethical standards/codes as compulsory requirements to insurance undertakings and intermediaries. The paper aims to highlight the parts of the insurance regulation issued by the IAIS that are more affected from this regulatory approach. This paper is a preliminary step to a further analysis and critical discussion of the rationale of this emerging regulatory trend.
