Abstract: This document is the Code of Ethics, Resolution 690 (1979) on the Declaration on the Police drafted by the Council of Europe and presented during the thirty-first ordinary session at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. It lists ethical behaviour that every police should abide by while performing their duties in order to safeguard the fundamental human rights and freedoms guaranteed by the European Convention on Human Rights and other national and international instruments.
