Abstract: Introduction: Non-adherence to medicines is considered to be a factor leading to negative health outcomes. Current behavioural models highlight the importance of health beliefs in the decision-making process of patients about their medicines. Objectives: To determine the relationship between adherence to medicines in patients with chronic conditions and medicines literacy, beliefs about medicines and health locus of control.
