Abstract: This article forms part of a dissertation presented at the University of Malta (Faculty of Education) in May 2000 by the authors in part fulfilment of the requirements for the Degree of Bachelor in Education (Honours). The dissertation is entitled "Munxar - a typical Gozitan village". The chapter in this article focuses on some traditional trades typical of Munxar in earlier times. Several people involved in these particular trades were interviewed. The industries and trades mentioned in this article are : baking, lime production in kilns, salt harvesting and trade, growth of cumin and seed harvesting, quarrying, dairy farming, and grape-pressing for wine production.
