dc.description.abstract | This thesis will delve into the complex morality of Batman with a particular focus on the events that unfold in the movie “The Dark Knight” (2008) directed by Christopher Nolan. Other notable characters in the Batman stories, such as Jim Gordon and the Joker, will also be singled out to better illustrate the circumstances Batman finds himself in - a key consideration when seeking to determine whether or not Batman’s actions are truly morally justifiable. Having thus established the context and its chief operators, this thesis will examine a potential change in Batman’s moral understanding at the climax of the movie. | en_GB |
