Abstract: Introduction: The creation of an Area of Freedom Security and Justice (AFSJ) and developments in EU criminal law have, in a broad way, brought about a positive development in the local legal order. The main contributions to local criminal law can be registered in both substantive and procedural laws. From a substantive law point of view, amendments were registered mostly in areas of financial crime and money laundering. From a procedural aspect, there were both institutional reforms as well as the implementation of specialised instruments of mutual recognition. These instruments have been implemented and applied with success. This, however, does not mean that their application is free from difficulty. [Excerpt]
