Abstract: This book chapter discusses the importance of health and safety in the workplace, and their significant impact on human dignity, as they affect an individual's physical and psychological well-being. Every worker has the right to working condition which respects his health, safety, and dignity (as stated in Article 31.1 of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights). When the unsafe and unhealthy working conditions persist, it can lead to negative consequences for any organisation. By introducing additional layer of health risk management, a new paradigm in occupational health is placing a higher priority on health promotion. Striving for organisational excellence and integrity fosters a health and safety culture, serving as a foundation for building ethical organisations that are committed to human dignity and justice in the workplace.
