The manuscript Vita dei Vescovi di Malta forms part of the Miscellanea fond of the Cathedral Archives of Malta. This compilation details the lives of the Bishops of the Maltese See, from the traditionally held figure of Saint Publius, as the first bishop, down to Bishop Publio Maria dei Conti Sant2. Its conclusion with the life of this Bishop places this work in the mid-nineteenth century. A palaeographic analysis of the text suggests that the work can be attributed to one author. While setting aside any scientific value to its attributions for the greater part of the period covered, it is being included in this present work, because of its origin as a kind of handlist, possibly for the use of the Metropolitan Chapter.en_GB
