dc.description.abstractTeatru Astra presents the programme of the 4-act tragic opera "Aida", written by Antonio Ghislanzoni, with music composed by Giuseppe Verdi, and directed by Joseph Bascietta, with musical direction from Joseph Vella. The production featured the Astra Theatre Opera Chorus (instructed by Maria Frendo), the Tanya Bayona Princess Poutiatine Academy of Ballet (directed by Tanya Bayona), the MillRoom Studio (directed by Jeni Delicata Lynam), and the National Orchestra (led by Marcelline Agius). The performance was held on the 1st of May, 1999, at Teatru Astra, in Victoria, Gozo.en_GB
