| Abstract: | Leonard Azzopardi was born in Ħal Luqa on 13 October 1926 to Salvator and Francesca Azzopardi. On 16 October 1926 he was baptised at the Parish Church of Saint Andrew, Ħal Luqa. He received his primary education at the Government Elementary School of Ħal Luqa, Żurrieq and Isla between 1931 an 1938. He then received his secondary education during the turbulent years of the Second World War between 1939 and 1945 at the Cottonier College of De La Salle in Bormla, the Dockyard School in Bormla too, where he was an apprentice, as well as the Mariano-Appostolica, a school run by the Carmelites in Valletta. |
