[Excerpt] At the First Annual Meeting of the Catholic Institute of Great Britain, held at the Freemasons' Hall, Great Queen Street, on the 5th of June, by adjournment from the 8th of May, 1839,

JAMES WHEBLE, Esq. in the Chair, The following Resolutfons were unanimously passed: That the Report now read be adopted, and that the same, with the addition of such documents as the Committee may think fit to annex thereto, be printed and circulated under the direction of the Committee. That the rapid extension of the Institute, and the great favour it has met with from all classes of Catholics, augur well for its future prospects, and for the ultimate attainment of those objects for which it has been formed. That to achieve these objects, it is desirable that all Catholics should cordially unite, not only by contributing according to their means to the common fund, but by aiding the Institute in working out its plans, on the principles laid down in the Regulations.
