Abstract: | This project emerges from my participation in a course held at the Corradino Correctional Facility - 'Participation of Employment Education and Training through Social Inclusion at CCF'. This study aims to explore the challenges and benefits of educational activities directed at female inmates. Since various studies show that inmates’ mental health can suffer while incarcerated because of a lack of meaningful things to do, the aim of this programme is to address the lack of projects directed at female inmates' well-being and personal health. The self-care programme shall focus on the female inmates’ needs, the lack of knowledge and skills, and the promotion of a healthy body and mind, thus avoiding health issues and promoting better self-esteem both while behind bars and when they are back in society. |
