Abstract: | Oreste Calleja is one of the most interesting of the young writers. With the possible exception of Alfred Sant, he is the only playwright that can be regarded as heir apparent to Francis Ebejer. Like many other young writers, Calleja tends to be a cynic and a pessimist. His characters are often people who have opted out of living a useful life in society because they can not endure it. |
