Abstract: Many countries compete for their share from the tourism industry, with competition becoming global due to the widespread of the Internet. Destinations offering a comparable product to tourists engage in a fiercer competition by presenting various incentives, diversifying their tourism portfolio, and offering competitive prices. This research focused on the prices obtained through three online sources of collective accommodation establishments in three competitive Mediterranean islands, namely Corfu, Cyprus, and Malta, whose economies highly depend on tourism. A number of hypotheses were generated and tested through the results obtained from a representative sample, and a comparative analysis between the prices was conducted. A set of conclusions and implications are presented with the aim of assisting policy-makers and key stakeholders in the tourism industry.
