Abstract: Manoel Theatre presents the programme for a commemoration concert celebrating the Manoel Theatre's first decade being open since its rehabilitation in 1960. The concert was produced by V.M. Pellegrini, conducted by Joseph Sammut, and performed by the Manoel Theatre Resident Orchestra and Chorus Melitensis. The concert featured the musical works of multiple Maltese composers, including Carmelo Pace, Joseph Magri, J. B. Cassar, Joseph Vella, Antonio Nani, Carlo Diacono, and Dun Karm Psaila. The concert was held on the 27th of December, 1970, at the Manoel Theatre, in Valletta.
Description: Three copies of programme included, one with performers' signatures and the others without. All programmes include note with painting picture on Manoel theatre's founder Grand Master Antonio Manoel De Vilhena, note about the first decade of Manoel Theatre being reopened written by producer V. M. Pellegrini, list of featured music including composers and performers, essay titled "The Manoel Theatre as Seen by Peter Boydell in 1958" with the oldest known photo of Manoel Theatre, list of Manoel Theatre Management Committee, list of Manoel Theatre staff members, photo of Chorus Melitensis, list of members of the Manoel Theatre Orchestra, and list of forthcoming events at the Manoel Theatre.
