Abstract: Two chapters in this book deal with the actual physical spaces (and their contents) of the University of Malta. This chapter looks at spaces of a different, if related, kind. If a university muse lay its biretta somewhere, it also inhabits and operates within spaces that are intellectual, social and political, and that may or may not neatly overlap with bounded physical geographical ones. A significant pare of the work of the University consists in inhabiting these spaces and contexts - in ministering to them, even. There is nothing exceptional about this. Any institution of any kind, and certainly a university, must assert its legitimacy and relevance also through the acts of location and inhabiting, preferably within spaces that absolve it of the charge of parochiality.
