| Abstract: | This dissertation aims to provide a comprehensive outlook regarding the capabilities of a modern percussionist. The seven compositions that are featured show a number of styles played on the most common percussion instruments. The preparation of these works has given me, as a performer, the right frame of mind and technical knowledge to continue studying and performing music. Each of the pieces has a particular difficulty that needs attention for correct interpretation. All of these compositions present the percussionist as a soloist capable of detailed self-expression. |
