Abstract: Fr. Dionysius Mintoff is a Franciscan priest and he is popularly known as the wandering friar of Malta. He is involved in all spheres of activities within the Maltese society. He was in the prison council, he worked as a lecturer and also in the education department. Recently he opened the peace Lab in Hal Far which caters for illegal immigrants into Malta. Fr Mintoff's unstinting work was appreciated by Pope Paul VI who decorated him with the Papal honour Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice (for the Church and the Pontiff). The award was presented to him in recognition of his involvement within all levels of community life, through education that opened many minds.
