| Abstract: | Manoel Theatre and the Grupp Folkloristiku Nazzjonali "Viva Malta" present the programme for a Soirée lyrique presented by Charles Coleiro. The event featured musical and dance performances done by various Maltese groups and solo performers, including "The Greenfields", "Viva Malta", and "L-Għasir Tal-Għeneb". The dances done by "Viva Malta" were directed and choreographed by George Zahra. The event also included a musical reading of Anton Buttigieg's poem "Il-Kappella tal-Paċi" (with music composed by Carmelo Pace). The event additionally featured the Manoel Theatre Orchestra (conducted by Mro Joseph Sammut, and led by George Spiteri) which played alongside the choir of a secondary school from Blata l-Bajda. The performance was held on the 19th of December, 1974, at Manoel Theatre, in Valletta. |
