Abstract: Joachim Jeremias boldly stated that “Luke dislikes transpositions” and that he “was an enemy of rearrangement.” Any deviations in order from the Marcan material must therefore be regarded as important markers of Luke’s particular theological stance. Seven main transpositions have been suggested for the Lucan gospel, out of which this study focuses on the third – the call of the first disciples in Luke 5:1-11.
