Abstract: This thesis presents a comprehensive treatment of the design, analysis and implementation of an air-suspended system. A particular type of an air-suspended system was chosen, such that it can float stationary in mid air, that is similar to a helicopter. The main problem encountered in operating such a system is that of balance. Thus, it was decided to concentrate all efforts in investigating the problems associated with instability. This thesis shows the principles of active balance and dynamic equilibrimn. The purpose of this research is to offer an alternative method of how stability can be obtained. The principles used can also be applied to control the position and motion of the object suspended in air.
