Abstract: Valletta hosts one of the busiest commercial centres in Malta, whilst also being home to a sizeable population. Thus analysing crime in the city is not an easy process. This review posits different tables and maps depicting crime statistics over the last decade. A ten-year analysis based on reported crime data shows that crime categories vary by type and absolute numbers. The map below indicates that the incidences of crime are spread across all the streets but are more concentrated around the main streets (Republic and Merchants Streets). The distribution of crime is linked with the socio-economic, socio-cultural and residential relationships.
