The oil sector has historically been highly internationalised as a result of the key position of oil in industrial production. As the oil demand increases, the threat of marine oil pollution due to offshore oil exploitation is here to stay for good. Recent accidents on offshore platforms (United States, 2010; China, 2011; Brazil 2012) have raised many important questions of risk prevention and management regarding the deep and ultra-deep offshore oil production.en_GB
