Abstract: The papers collected here were presented at the Second International Conference on Creative Thinking which was held in Malta in July 1995. The present publication is evidence of the fact that debate and discussion on the subject of creative thinking have not abated but, rather, gained in momentum since the previous publication on the subject entitled Creative Thinking: A Multifaceted Approach, which emerged from the First International Conference on Creative Thinking. Both conferences were organised by The Edward de Bono Programme for the Design and Development of Thinking which was set up by the University of Malta, in collaboration with Professor Edward de Bono, in October 1992. The papers in this publication focus on creative thinking from a varied number of perspectives. These include, amongst others, perspectives of practitioners in business management and human resources development reporting on their research and experience, educators elaborating on strategies and methodology, and artists delving into their own creative processes in an attempt to make sense of the artistic act of creation. Creative Thinking has wide-ranging applications which may, at times, overlap due to the interdisciplinary nature of the subject. The importance of creative thinking is increasingly recognised in today's rapidly changing world. Yesterday's certainties are often no longer applicable today. An element of flexibility of thought and attitude are absolutely necessary to cope with constantly shifting scenarios. Creative Thinking offers possibilities which pertain not only to education or business management but also to the individual's personal and social life.
