| Abstract: | SS Sardinia, a passenger-cargo ship with a history dating back to its construction in 1888, faced a catastrophic event on 25 November 1908. The ship, previously known as Gulf of Corcovado and Paolo V., caught fire in the vicinity of Malta's Grand Harbour, resulting in a devastating loss of life, with a minimum of 118 fatalities. Among the passengers were Moroccan pilgrims who were undertaking their journey to Mecca. |
